When J. Robert Maze was a psychology lecturer at Sydney University he spent much of his time revealing the hidden content of folk tales for the instruction and delight of his students. It made him wonder about the human passions underlying the deeds of the ancient Greek gods and goddesses. They were mythical beings and the myths are still about, so those old Greeks may still be alive in real time, taking a hand in human affairs.
